Here is the teaching outline and video testimony for Day 2 of our Summer event Sector 5.
Key Verse:
The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. John 10:10 (NIV)
Day 2:
Key Dimension – Faith
Truth – I believe God’s Word. I know God loves me and He sent His son Jesus to die for me.
(We shared the plan of salvation on day 2)
The enemy is trying to steal my Faith and make me doubt.
Bible Story – The two thieves on the cross
Application – The thieves on the crosses next to Jesus both saw and heard the same thing. But one choose to mock Jesus and called him a liar. The other one could see Jesus for who he really was…the Son of God. In fact, the one thief told Jesus he believed him and trusted that He was the Savior. Because of his faith, Jesus told that thief that he would be in paradise with Jesus on that very night.
It doesn’t matter who you are or what you have done, Jesus loves you and He gave His life for you. You can come to Jesus just the way you are and He will accept you when you believe in Him, trust His word and ask Jesus to be the Lord of your life. Faith is trusting in something you can’t see with your eyes, but you know is real. Jesus is real and when we trust in Jesus, we are showing we have real faith. Faith that Jesus loves us and faith that Jesus is our savior.
Each day the drama began and ended with a “video log” by one of the characters.
Video log 2:
Sometimes He asks me to do things that I simply don’t understand. It doesn’t always seem fair and sometimes simply doesn’t make sense. But He is always right…I don’t know how, but He is. Still, following His commands is tough. Today is a great example. It made no sense to me to offer forgiveness and a second chance to a Flatlander. I thought they were the enemy.
Anyway, it turns outs this Flatlander was basically a prisoner. He was looking for a way out of the second dimension but didn’t know how to get out.
I followed the Master’s command, and now, I have a new friend, a new teammate, someone to watch my back. Honestly, I wanted revenge, I wanted to get even…the Master knew I needed a friend. The forgiveness the Master told me to extend was the bridge my soon-to-be ally was looking for. Huh, who knew. Well, the Master knew.
