An Easter Prayer

Well, it’s time. It’s time to celebrate the resurrection of our Lord.  That means the crowd will be a little bigger, the excitement level will be a little higher and the opportunity to share one of the greatest events in the history of mankind will be right in front of us. It’s going to be a great weekend!

Today you will probably be running around picking up supplies, preparing your rooms, making a few more calls or maybe rehearsing that song one more time. Whatever you are doing today to make those last minute preparations, I offer one very obvious but all important reminder…PRAY!

Of course we should pray, but listen. I’ve been doing this a long time and I know how easy it is to get caught up in all the details, planning and execution of the services that we simply forget to stop and pray.

Whatever you are doing at this very moment, I want to encourage you to take a few minutes and connect with Jesus and ask Him to bless and anoint every aspect of the Easter services at your church. In fact, I would like to pray for you right now through this blog post.

Pray with me…

Father, you have given us the greatest opportunity in the world, the opportunity to share YOU with the children of our communities. We don’t deserve this opportunity. It’s only through your grace that it’s even possible. But we are so grateful that you allow us to invest in these kids.

Now as we approach our Easter services, I pray you would encourage, equip and energize my brothers and sisters as they fulfill the call you placed on their lives. I pray that your anointing will flow over them and they will sense your presence throughout the weekend as they minister. All the activities, all the programming, all the music, it’s all designed to point our kids to you. Even if things don’t go according to the plan, our primary desire is to see kids connect with you. Let it be Lord, let the kids sense your presence the moment they walk on the campus. Let them fell your love through the kindness of our volunteers; let them understand the indescribable love you have for them through the message of your word. We trust you to change lives this weekend. Bless my teammates and use them mightily I pray. Remind them that what they do makes an eternal difference…the landscape of eternity will be different because of their ministry this weekend. Bless them I pray in your name, Amen.
